You will travel from Dakar to Saint-Louis, discovering exceptional places, a grandiose nature and you will be accommodated in accommodations selected for their romantic and intimate character. You will discover several regions of Senegal, between desert, savannah and mangrove.
Program
Day 1: Airport – Dakar
Flight to Senegal. Arrival at the airport and welcome by our correspondent. Transfer to your hotel in Dakar.
Dinner and overnight in your suite with sea view.
Day 2: Dakar -Gorée
Breakfast. Departure for Gorée Island. Located 4 kilometers off Dakar, twenty minutes by boat, Gorée Island is one of the most endearing places in Senegal. Arrival and check-in to your room.
Lunch in the garden of the Maison Soudan, you will taste good typical dishes. Departure in the afternoon for a visit to the island, which is characterized by a perfectly homogeneous architecture.
If it weren’t for the dozens of children playing in its streets and the baobabs and bougainvilleas growing everywhere, the visitor would more easily believe they were in a Provençal village. Return to the hotel. Dinner in the restaurant of your hotel, on a terrace offering you a panoramic view of the bay of Dakar and its historic buildings. Night.
Day 3: Gorée – Lac Rose
Breakfast and return to Dakar by boat. Continue to Lac Rose, pink when the sun is at its zenith and then at dusk, the pink darkens to take on shades of mauve or violet. Arrival and embarkation for a salt boat ride to visit the Lake. You will have your lunch in a restaurant located between the lake and the ocean.
You will taste dishes full of flavors marrying exclusively local products to the great imagination and creativity of the chef. After a good lunch, continue to your hotel. Installation in your bamboo hut facing the lake. In the afternoon, let yourself be tempted by a horse ride. You will discover the environment of the lake at the pace of your Arab beard horses typical of the region. On the dune cord and the infinite beach of the great Coast, the filaos forests and the small Peul villages. Return to the hotel, to prepare for a romantic dinner on the terrace. Dinner and night.
Day 4: Lac Rose – Lompoul
Breakfast and departure for Lompoul, via the Mboro road. Considered the most beautiful desert in Senegal, it has dunes 40 to 50 meters high.
You will reach it by the immense wild beach of the Grande Côte. At noon, break in the shade of the filaos. Picnic lunch by the sea. Then, direction to the camp, in 4X4. Arrival and installation in your tent-suite.
You will have your Senegalese-Moroccan dinner on a mat with cushions, under the starry sky of the desert. You can then sip a cup of tea around a campfire in front of a dance show rhythm by the djembes. Night in your tent-suite.
Day 5: Lompoul – Sowène
Breakfast and departure for a walk accompanied by a guide on camelback in the heart of the Lompoul desert. Then continue to Sowéne, late in the morning, with your lodge on the banks of the Senegal River as your destination. Stop at the Langue de Barbarie for your private barbecue lunch between river and ocean.
Continue by pirogue to the lodge with a visit to the National Park. This magnificent reserve is a sanctuary for thousands of birds during migration.
Arrival and check-in to your bungalow. Free evening, (you can enjoy the activities offered at the lodge). Dinner on your private terrace and night in your stilt bungalow.
Day 6: Sowène – Saint-Louis – Sowène
Breakfast and departure for Saint-Louis for a city tour by horse-drawn carriage (about 2 hours). At the crossroads of discoveries, Saint-Louis is a city of art and history that today occupies a prominent place in the Senegalese tourist environment.
The city is built on the sandy banks of the mouth of the Senegal River. The omnipresence of water is the essential characteristic of the site. Life seems frozen in Saint-Louis, which lives on its former splendor. The walker will appreciate the beautiful buildings from the colonial period.
Visit and lunch in the city center. Return to the lodge, relaxing afternoon accompanied by a Californian massage session based on essential oils, with the river and the Langue de Barbarie in the background. Dinner and night at the lodge.
Day 7: Sowène – Airport
Breakfast then free morning at the lodge.
Then departure to the airport with the possibility of stopping at the Thiès market for a visit and lunch (meal not included).
Arrival at the airport. Assistance with boarding. End of our services.
